Key, Standard and Minor
Every comment carries the passage it rests on and a tier: Key (would change a decision or cause harm), Standard (should be fixed) and Minor (spelling, grammar, style). The Comments pane lists them by tier; click one to jump to its place in the document.
Working through the comments
- ✓ Accept (A): keep it as is.
- ✎ Edit (E): reword it; ↩ restores the previous version.
- Refine with AI (the sparkle): ask the model to rework the comment with your note.
- Delete (R): moves it to Deleted, left out of the Word file; Restore brings it back.
Your decisions are saved with the document and survive a restart.
Rating and reporting a comment
The thumbs up / down under a comment record whether it was useful. They stay with the comment; with telemetry at Standard they are counted (tier and comment type only, never the text). The ! opens Report this comment: say what was wrong with it right under the comment (if you like) and pick what kind of wrong it is (wrong, not useful, points at the wrong place, unclear, something else). The report sends the comment, your explanation and the run that wrote it: which model and provider answered each of its roles, its settings (without API keys, paths or your name) and the last lines of its log, all with document text, file names and keys removed, plus which pass raised the comment, its grounding verdict and how many of its quotes were confirmed. None of that is document content, so it needs no consent box, and it is what lets support tell which model produced a bad comment without seeing your document. Tick Add context data to also send its section and the passage it is anchored to (that quotes your document and needs the consent box). Comment reports are deleted within 90 days. They are how DocReview's reviews get better.
Exporting
Export ▾ in the header:
- DOCX: your document with the comments as ordinary Word comments, in a copy; DOCX (Highlighted) also highlights each comment's passage.
- Comment Resolution Sheet (.xlsx): one row per comment, for the author's responses.
- Review record (.html): what was reviewed, with which settings and models, and the outcome.
- Markdown and HTML: the document text with the comments.
How many comments
Settings → Analysis → Comment budget caps Key and Standard comments per 10,000 words; the lowest-priority Standard comments beyond it move to Overflow (kept in the report, hidden in the pane, left out of the Word file unless you include them). Minor comments in the Word file are grouped one per section by default.
